Our Superstar, Muka

I was so VERY proud last week upon learning that our Key Account Manager, Mukameenda Salare from our Sales Office in Lusaka, scooped the Sun International Regional Sales Executive of Year Award for 2010. What makes this even more spectacular is that this is not Muka’s first win – she was presented with same award in 2008. The award, which recognizes sales executives in the group, was presented in Lesotho at the annual Sun International Sales Conference recently.
This hotly contested award follows her exemplary performance throughout the last financial year, during which she recorded the highest sales in the region. Muka’s results set her apart from our sales offices in Botswana, Namibia, Swaziland and others outside South Africa, and overwhelmed this deserving recipient. “I’m very glad I won this award again. I’m greatly humbled. In fact, I believe it should be called ‘Sales Office of the Year’ because there is so much team effort involved. The team is what matters. I can’t achieve anything single-handedly, but because of the team spirit that Sun International Zambia staff share, especially the people I work with on a daily basis, here I am with an award. It’s definitely not for me alone, but for the whole team. Thank you all for your support. We are all winners,” she said.
Muka began working at Sun International Zambia as a Reservationist in 2005 before being appointed Sales Coordinator. Due to her hard work and commitment, she was quickly appointed as Key Account Manager in 2006, the position she is currently holding. It’s quite clear that she is doing an exceptional job – and therefore is our Superstar!
