Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice List

Congratulations to Cape Town for being voted as the 2013 best destination in Africa and making the top 25 destinations in the world as voted by TripAdvisor Travelers . I am delighted as I love Cape Town and our sister hotel, The Table Bay Hotel is situated in the best spot in Cape Town, at the V&A Waterfront.

As a city destination, I think Cape Town is unbeatable. The shopping is world class and affordable and the sidewalk décor and fashion stores found in the suburbs are simply divine. I like to visit Kloof Street when I’m in town as it boasts some of the coolest shops in Cape Town.

Loft Living has fantastic décor items and furniture and LIM which stands for Less Is More, is wonderfully understated and stocks great organic homeware and interesting jewellery. Stefania Morland’s design studio is across the road and her feminine, well thought out designs are perfect for me. Klooftique also has gorgeous furniture, but I hardly ever buy anything there because most of the pieces are too big to fit in my suitcase. I’m more of an immediate gratification type of person, so waiting for it to be shipped doesn’t appeal to me.

Eating in Kloof Street is always a treat. Café Paradiso is a stalwart of the neighbourhood – the courtyard is a great place to while away an afternoon and there are many sidewalk café’s where I like to read my kindle whilst enjoying a latte. I’m dying to try out Bombay Bicycle Club which is tipped as one of the best newcomers to Cape Town’s restaurant scene. When I get time away from Livingstone next, I’ll update you on my experience. And last but not least, This Is Not A Post Office is a whacky, fun party shop. It’s sensory overload at its best!
